Washington State Gambling Commission

Richard L. Herrington is a graduate from the University of Portland, Portland, Oregon with a B.S. in Life Sciences and is a 31 year veteran of law enforcement. He is currently a Special Agent in Charge (SAC) for the Washington State Gambling Commission (WSGC). He is assigned to the WSGC Criminal Intelligence Unit as a supervisor and has supervised the Criminal Investigations Undercover Unit as well as being a Special Agent in the regulatory and enforcement of the WSGC. SAC Herrington was a narcotics detective, major crimes investigator, and a detective with the Lewis County Sheriff's Office for fifteen years prior to becoming a commissioned Special Agent with the WSGC in 1992. He is part of the informal national Illegal Internet Gambling Task Force, currently head of the enforcement group and authored the investigative plan for the task force. SAC Herrington has co-authored a training manual for illegal internet gambling investigations. He has also trained law enforcement officers on illegal internet gambling investigations on a local, national and international level. SAC Herrington was appointed the Northwest Zone Vice Chairman in January 2009.
