LEIU Member Agencies Continue Service on Influential Criminal Intelligence Coordinating Council (CICC)

November 16, 2015

Consistent with LEIU’s mission, LEIU leaders and agency executives continue to provide leadership and promote professionalism in criminal intelligence through participation in the Criminal IntelligenceCoordinating Council (CICC).  The CICC, formally established in May 2004, provides advice to the U.S. Attorney General on the best use of criminal intelligence to keep our country safe. The advice of members of the CICC has also been sought by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Director of National Intelligence, members of Congress, and other representatives of local, tribal, state, and federal government agencies.  Our current LEIU General Chairman Van Godsey, Assistant Director, Division of Drug and Crime Control, Missouri State Highway Patrol sits on the CICC as a representative for LEIU.  Other General Chairman Godsey serves as the Chairman of the Training Committee for the CICC.  Other CICC members who are from LEIU member agencies include:

*Vernon Keenan, CICC Chairman, Director, Georgia Bureau of Investigation

*Michael Downing, CICC Vice Chairman, Deputy Chief, Los Angeles (CA) Police Department

*Art Acevedo, Chief, Austin (TX) Police Department
