  • Ritchie Martinez, President of IALEIA, Is Presented With The LEIU Distinguished Service Award

    This award  is presented to the person who has shown a sustained contribution to the Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Units and a continuous effort to enhance the professionalization of the criminal intelligence profession.  Ritchie is a two-term President of IALEIA and has been a long time supporter of LEIU.  In Ritchie's 1st term as IALEIA President , we hosted our 1st joint annual training conference in Washington D.C.

  • LexisNexis Sponsors The LEIU General Chairman's Awards

    In 2011, at the Annual LEIU/IALEIA Training Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, LexisNexis joined LEIU not only as a major sponsor of the conference, it joined LEIU as the sponsor of two awards to member agencies who have made a significant contribution to the law enforcement criminal intelligence community.  Those agencies honored in 2011 were the Seattle Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (see attached photos).

  • The California Department of Justice (CA DOJ) Is Presented With The LEIU Special Achievement Award

    The California Department of Justice was presented with the LEIU Special Achievement Award at the 2010 Awards Banquet at the Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida.  The CA DOJ was one of 26 founding members of the LEIU in 1956, and has continually played a key role in its success.  The Department has been the LEIU Central Coordinating Agency since its inception where it has performed the administrative support to LEIU for over 54 years and has been significant in the LEIU operations and coordination.  In summary, CA DOJ has not only been a trusted and valued in

    December 18, 2008 LEIU General Chairman Russell Porter, Director of Iowa's Intelligence Fusion Center at the Iowa Department of Public Safety, has received the 2008 Civil Rights Award from the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), in the category of Individual Achievement.

  • Ken Staab Is Presented With The LEIU Special Recognition Award

    This award is presented to the person who, through their dedication and professionalism, has assisted the Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Units in meeting its mission of providing leadership and promoting professionalism in the criminal intelligence community.  In 2002, when the LEIU Executive Board established the LEIU Foundation as its non-profit/charitable vehicle, it reached out to Ken Stabb to lead the Foundation as its President.  Ken formed a cohesive Foundation Board and began the hard work of managing this organization in his free time—no easy task.  He w
